TrainSignal Releases VMware Security Design Training

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) July 19, 2011

TrainSignal Inc, the global leader in professional computer training, announced the release of the new VMware vSphere Security Design Training.

VMware is the world leader in computer virtualization. The VMware suite of products allows companies to create multiple virtual servers on a single physical server computer. Companies can pool the resources of multiple physical server machines and share them across multiple virtual servers. This virtualization allows businesses to utilize more power on their servers and maximize their return on investment.

The VMware vSphere virtualization platform is widely used in companies of all sizes. VMware claims that 100 percent of the Fortune 100 and 99 percent of the Fortune 1000 companies run VMware. The VMware vSphere platform offers an array of integrated virtualization products that allows businesses to utilize the technologies they need. Of course, no matter what the products, a company’s data must be secure.

David Davis, TrainSignal’s vSphere instructor, said, “Virtualization has really changed how administrators deal with information security. If you’re using VMware or other virtualization products, you really need to reevaluate how you’re managing security in your organization. This course will help vSphere admins ensure they are securing their virtualization infrastructure the right way while utilizing the best security tools out there.”

The VMware Security Design Training course covers topics including, concepts of information security and risk management, how virtualization affects security, guidelines and best practices for securing a virtual environment, securing virtual machines, and configuration and change management.

“I think of this training as a good security primer. It will help vSphere admins take advantage of all of the security features available to them, including some very useful third-party tools. I’m always surprised at how many admins are just not aware of even the native security features in vSphere. This course definitely addresses that in that it’s very comprehensive, and very hands on as well,” said, Lane Leverett, one of TrainSignal’s vSphere Security instructors.

Instructor Leverett has worked in the IT industry for over 13 years and holds numerous technology certifications including VCDX3 and VCDX4, VCAP4-DCD, VCA4-DT, VCP3, VCP4, MCSE, CCNA, DCUCD, and DCUCI. He has spent the past six years as a consultant integrating, designing and architecting VMware Infrastructure, Cisco and HP networking, and EMC, NetApp, HP and IBM storage solutions for customers. He currently works for ENS Inc. as a Senior Systems Engineer. In 2010, Lane was awarded the title of VCDX3 #53, one of the few people in the world to hold this title.

Jason Nash joins Leverett as an instructor for this course. Nash has over 15 years of industry experience and is currently the Data Center Solutions Principal at Varrow. His certifications include VCDX #49, VCP4, CISSP, RHCE and CCNP. He has published several books on networking, Windows and Linux. Nash was designated a vExpert by VMware and holds a BS in Networking Technology and an MS in Information Security.

The two instructors provide 22 lessons across two DVDs totaling nearly 12 hours of total instruction. In addition, students get a PDF file of all instructor notes alleviating the need to take notes while trying to focus on the lessons.

Although TrainSignal ships courseware worldwide for free, students need not wait for the DVDs to arrive in the mail. Students receive instant online access to all course materials. Training session files come in multiple formats including iPod Video, MP3 audio, WMV and high-quality AVI files ensuring compatibility with virtually any device.

Students seeking to obtain certification will find that the material presented in the course covers section seven of the VCAP-DCA exam blueprint: Section 7 – Secure a vSphere Environment. However, the security issues covered in the course are important for any administrator managing a virtual environment.

“This course will benefit the day-to-day vSphere admin who wants to understand the security features and functionalities of vSphere, as well as someone who is preparing for the VCAP-DCA exam, since it focuses on covering section seven of the exam. If you’re under HIPPA or PCI or if you simply have a security policy in place and you’re using VMware products then you’ll gain a lot of value from this course,” said Jason Nash.

The VCAP-DCA Training course is offered for $ 397 as a standalone course, or as part of Train Signal’s vSphere VCAP Training Package. Like all Train Signal offerings, the course is covered by Train Signal’s 90-Day Total Experience Guarantee.

Train Signal Releases Cisco CCNA Voice Training

Schaumburg, IL (PRWEB) June 07, 2011

TrainSignal Inc, the global leader in professional computer training, announced the release of its new Cisco CCNA Voice Training course.

Cisco is a pioneer in business IP communications and has become a market leader with installed phone systems in businesses of all sizes. Installing and supporting these phone systems is a key need for businesses everywhere, and an in-demand skill for IT professionals.

Designed for current Cisco Certified Network Administrators (CCNA) or those with any Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification, TrainSignal’s Cisco CCNA Voice Training course offers a way for experienced network professionals to expand their skillsets into this important business technology. Iman Jalali, Train Signal’s Director of Sales and Marketing, said, “The CCNA Voice Certification is a great way for current Cisco professionals to enhance and diversify their skillsets. And, since this particular specialization is in high demand, IT professionals will also be making an investment in their careers.”

Instructor Joe Rinehart is a seasoned Cisco professional with over 14 years of experience. He has numerous certifications including CCIE, CCVP, CCNP, CCDA, CCDP, and CCNA. His experience includes supporting Fortune 500 Companies in deploying routing, switching, unified communications, security and data center technologies. In addition, Rinehart is a successful speaker and published author. He is also active in the social media space where he manages one of the largest groups on LinkedIn.

Chris Graham, Product Development Specialist, who worked with Rinehart on this course said, “Joe Rinehart is an experienced professional in the Cisco universe and brings everything from the most basic of concepts to the highest level of Cisco telephony and puts it together in a package that is easily accessible and enjoyable. IT pros will learn a lot form Joe and will be able to expand on their current CCNA knowledge.”

Rinehart takes students through anything they might encounter in the real world when setting up a telephony system, building the lab throughout the course so students can see the entire process from start to finish. Along the way, he discusses telephony best practices and things to watch for, including topics like licensing. Although the class focuses on Cisco telephony systems, even those students not working with a Cisco phone system can benefit from the course because the telephony concepts are fundamentally the same across different phone systems.

While the course teaches professionals how to actually deploy a real-world Cisco telephony system, TrainSignal’s Cisco CCNA Voice Training also prepares students for the Introducing Cisco Voice and Unified Communications Administration v8.0 (ICOMM) Exam (640-461); ICOMM v8.0 is associated with the CCNA Voice certification.

Reinhart said, “Since voice technologies are becoming more and more important, the CCNA Voice is an attractive specialization track for those with their CCNA.”

The course offers over nine hours of instruction on two DVDs. The course’s 20 lessons cover everything from the building blocks of voice over IP to configuring users and devices before continuing on to reporting and advanced features and applications. Video instruction files are offered in multiple formats including AVI, WMV and iPod video formats, ensuring that students can learn using virtually any device. A PDF file of all instructor notes relieves students of the need to take notes so they can focus on the lessons.

DVDs ship free worldwide, but students who can’t wait to get started benefit from instant access to all training and files online. In addition to being able to start learning right away, online access also allows students to view the training from any computer with online access.

Cisco CCNA Voice Training comes with TrainSignal’s 90-day Total Experience Guarantee and is offered for just $ 297.
