Question by quickblur: Will there ever be a single world stock market?
With the recent merger of the Australian and Singapore markets, and the merger of NYSE and Euronext in 2007, are we on the path to seeing more market consolidations? In the long run, will we ever see one giant global market?

We have more than one stock exchange here in the United States. We’ve got the NYSE and the NASDAQ. If we don’t have one single countrywide exchange, I think it will be a long time before we have a single worldwide exchange.
