The public sector union members got themselves terrific overtime, holiday, pension, and healthcare packages through buying politicians with their votes and campaign money and the taxpayers are left to pick up the tab. Enough is enough!
I guess by your logic, that makes it okay and we’re not facing $ 500 billion in underfunded pensions.

Since all mentioned are tax-payers does that mean they pick up some of their own tab?

Edit: Me? You garnered all that from my question?

  1. Godless Heathen says:

And yet the state still has some of the richest people in world. Kind of blows your whole “tax the rich and they run” argument huh?

  2. TicToc.... says:

If GOD were to decide california fate it would would end up in the Pacific along with the fishes.

  3. Lastname Comma Firstname says:

CA is such a great example as to why liberalism is a failure

  4. libsticker says:

It will never be enough, the more you give the more they want, the more they get, the more they take, the more they take the more you give and so goes the same old story, it’s the endless tax and spend treadmill.

  5. slew says:

It doesn’t but we are taxing our state into ruins. They are arguing to get rid of special economic zone. Liberals quote statistics that these zones don’t help because companies move from one part of California into another. I agree. What I don’t think the left sees, is that if these special tax breaks don’t exist, more companies would be moving to low taxing states like Texas. California is lucky, because of our location, but many companies do not want to deal with our high labor cost, regulations and huge taxes. having higher taxes on our residence also drive up labor cost, because their workers would end up demanding higher pay.

  6. B Afraid says:

California does not have the highest income tax rates. The highest bracket rate for CA is 9.3% with an extra 1% of income is over 1 Million. Hawaii (11%) and Oregon (11%) have higher upper bracket rates.

California does have the highest sales tax rate (7.25%). This is only .25% more than New Jersey and Tennessee (both at 7%). However adding in average city and local taxes gives Tenn. a higher overall tax rate.

    Enough for what?

California also has among the lowest property taxes in the US.

In fact, California’s total state tax collections actually rank about #10 of the 50 states.

But of course, you just want to blame everything on unions rather than looking at actual facts.
